From Nancy Wilson’s Silver Trophy to Jimmy Page’s two-headed beast, the battle-scarred warhorses of blues, country, jazz and rock and roll are shot in stunning detail. Johnson, and makes an excellent addition to any music lover's library. I also have Lisa S. Johnson's 108 ROCK STAR GUITARS, which is excellent -- both books dovetail and complement each other perfectly. Her photography is unlike anyone else's. You don't get standard shots of these immortal axes, you get works of art. (Here's proof - I keep the book alongside my favorite portrait of Jimmy Page!) I learned so much about the myths and realities surrounding these powerful instruments - the adventure of Peter Frampton's Phenix is especially fascinating!
